The Protomen are a early 2000's geek/indie rock band based in Nashville, Tennessee. Freddie Wong was and is a big fan of the Protomen, which prompted the use of many of their songs in VGHS, all throughout the three seasons.   • "Keep Quiet" is featured in Season 1, Episode 4 during Brian's cake baking montage and the background music at Jenny's party.
  • The song "Light up the Night" was played during Brian and The Law's DXM Dance off as well as D.K. and Ted Wong's first drift race in Season 1, Episode 4.
  • "Breaking Out" is also featured in Season 1, Episode 4 without lyrics, as background music in Jenny's party after the Drift Race/Dance-off scene, all the way until the credits.
  • The song “The Fall” was played while Brian killed the Law in the final round of J.V. tryouts in Season 1, Episode 9.
  • In Seasons 2 and 3, the Protomen personally wrote a custom theme song for the show, however, the song was not released to any platforms.
  • ”Breaking Out” is played in Season 2, Episode 6 with lyrics while Ki, Ted, Jenny, Brian, and The Law all have their respective breakdowns and crises. This is the second appearance of the song on the show.
  • "Not Your Lionheart" is featured in the beginning of Season 3, Episode 6.
  • "The Hounds", "III: The Will of One", and/or "V: The Stand (Man or Machine)" are allegedly featured in VGHS, without confirmation.[citation needed]
